STATE MEET 2010 Official Meeting

This year at the TX State Meet we will have a State meeting, similar to the the NGB meeting at the Open Men’s Nationals every year.  A few of the things that we will discuss include, but is not limited to:

1.  State Meet Bids-  If you are interested in hosting the state meet for the coming year 2011, and 2012 and 2013.  We would like for the state meet to grow, and be extremely successful and setting the date further in advance would help that.
2.  Date of the State Meet – I would like to get people’s opinion on setting a better date for the state meet to optimize the majority of the membership.
3.  Drug Testing- changes in policies, voice your concerns on current policies, a breakdown of #’s of drug tests in Texas.
4.  Referee training- Renewing referee status, becoming a new referee, refresher courses to update referee skills.
5.  The year in review – I will present a PowerPoint presentation highlighting what we have accomplished in the state of Texas over the past year.
6.  Question and Answer session- this will be your opportunity to ask me the State Chair any questions, voice any concerns, and make suggestions or recommendations

If you have anything that you would like to add to the agenda please submit them before April 1st.

Aggie Invitational 2010

The Aggie Invitational at Texas A&M was a big success.  35 lifters came out to participate, and several of them broke state records and even a few American records.  This meet was a fundraiser the Aggie’s put on every year to raise funds for their trip to collegiate nationals, which is April 16-18th in beautiful Orlando, FL.  The team qualified a few members for the championships at the Aggie Invite, as well as did other collegiate teams such as Sam Houston and UT.  Overall it was a great meet and I look forward to the next one.  Please see the Competition results page for all the details.
