The records set at the Longhorn Open have been updated. There has been
confusion concerning who is eligible to set state records and how to properly
claim a record. Here are a few answers to the most common questions:
In order set a state record, you must...
- be registered as a Texas USAPL member.
- weigh in 2 hours before you start lifting (not the night before).
- submit a Record Request Form
to the Webmaster.
Also, you can set a Texas record at any USAPL/IPF sanctioned meet in
any state or country.
Certain state records may be higher than American, National, or even
World Records because they are much easier to claim and do not require
national-level judges.

Lifetime Drug Free Nationals will be held this coming weekend (Sept.
20) inIrving, Texas. Click Here to download the roster/schedule. Due to limited participation, only one best lifter award will be given per session.

The 2nd Annual Summer Powerfest was another great meet hosted by the
Phantom Corps in Killeen. The results can be seen here.

Attention! The entry form for Lifetime Drug Free Nationals has been corrected. Please download it again to see the updated information about the meet. Note that the deadline is
August 27th.

There are a couple of meets coming up soon. Lifetime
Nationals Drugfree Nationals is being held by Tom North in Irving
on September 18-22. Check the entry form to see if you're strong enough
to qualify. Also, the 2nd Annual Powerfest is being held in Killeen on August 30. This is a local meet put on by the Phantom Corps and a great one for all lifters interested.
Many records were set at the State Meet this year. Congratulations to
all the strong lifters out there. All of the records have been updated
and corrected, and the results have finally been posted.

Congratulations to the Del Valle High School Girls Team! The team placed
second at High School Nationals.

Quite a few records were set at Collegiate Nationals this year. Our own
Gil Montes even set an American Record. Check out the updated records.

Results from the SWT Invitational have been posted. Records have also
been updated.

We have created a State Record Claim Form to make the process of claiming a state record more official. If you are planning to break a record, print out the form and take it with you to the meet. If you are a meet director, make copies of it and
hand them out at Check-in.

Congratulations to Chris Kahanek for making the US Team for the IPF North
American Cup. The meet will be held in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
Teams from Canada, Mexico, and South America will be competing in the
meet.
